...now that we've passed that bump
I don't think I got the job, and like the movie Kill Bill, I'm not sure if I'm filled with relief or regret. I could've used a couple hundred doll-hairs for supplies on the trip, I suppose I can do without. Being an adventurer ain't easy, but it's worth it, as we say.
The next step is to compile a list of supplies I'll need:
Survival

Preparations
In the first episode of Battlestar Gallactica, the Cylons attack the colonies, but since the ship was going to be decommissioned it was low on ammunition. I am currently in this stage right now.
Before I decided to travel I had an interview for a full-time job in my old stomping ground of Denton, Texas. A few days ago I got a call back and the old stresses of civilized life came flooding back in. "How can I pass up this opportunity?" I thought. Lamenting my good fortune I was close to hanging up my adventurers hat.

I needed a plan. I didn't want to travel because I had no other option. I want to travel because I thirst for adventure. No 8-5 will ever quench that thirst. If it can happen in adventure books and movies it can happen in my life. I went to the interview call back in Denton with the intention of working for a single paycheck and hitting the road.

My Declaration of Independence
Far too long has adventure been stifled and silenced with excuses. Too long have I allowed the yolk of society's pressures rest on my shoulders.
I, Joshua Carmona, do solemnly swear to fulfill my destiny on this Earth, by travelling until I can go on no further. I will document what I see to share with the world. Through sun, wind, rain or snow I will not let fear, doubt or despair get in the way of my destiny, for my path is lit with the eternal flames of friendship.

With the help of some friends

I'm crawling, yearning for a better life. My plan has been hatched and it's going to take a lot of dedication and sacrifice. The past 4 years spent drunk has brought me to this day, this plan.

I've been sending my art postcards to people and getting nothing in return, an exercise in futility. Today I've sent three of them to three different galleries and I will repeat this act religiously until I get a space in a gallery.

The plan is once I get their attention to sell 12 pieces at once customized to the buyer. Three a week for a month for around 250-400 dollars. If I can sell 2-4 of these contracts I will be able to move out of my parent's house and go back to school. I'm scared of this path, of failing. But I need to put on a brave face and go for it. I will accept no other alternative.

A man and his plan.
After moving to Fort Worth, I am still on the job hunt. My girlfriend decided I should sweeten the deal for places that are hiring.

Observe:

And this:

I also have a major travelling project planned for late spring early summer if I can get some funds together.
